Manaslu Trek Packing List

The packing list for Manaslu Region is not easy for Manaslu Circuit trek as you except. From 600 m at Soti Khola to 5,179 m over the Larke Pass, you will face different weather conditions and temperatures during the trek. You must need to know about the Manaslu trek packing list.

You have to plan ahead before going to trek. In case, you need to fill up your backpack with different items and can save some places for other items. You need to pack lots of things for trekking.

You can buy/rent gears in Kathmandu

For having a trek in different regions, you can buy or rent different things like a jacket, tents, backpack, shoes, etc in Thamel, Kathmandu. Sherpa Adventure, KAEMP 8848, Sonam and Raiko, are the local brands that have good quality.

 Leave items in the hotel

In case of different unnecessary kinds of stuff remaining but it is not useful for your trek then you can leave it in hotel where you stay.

Manaslu circuit is a round trek so that there is no chance of leaving your things on the way. So you can leave in Kathmandu.

Complete packing list for Manaslu Region

Here are some of the packing lists which you need during your trek. They are:

Sun Protection

In Nepal, out of 365 days, 300 days are sunny and for the protection, you need to have compulsory Sun protection.

Sunglass

The temperature is extremely strong in higher elevation. Due to high snowfall, it reflects the light and makes you blind at any time. We recommend you to use black dark glasses to avoid UAV reflection.

Sunhat

You might get irritated while walking on a sunny day. Due to high radiation, it may affect your face, neck. So that you need to have Sunhat for compulsory.

Sunscreen

When the reflection of light enters in your face it might be a danger for your face, neck, and scalp so that Sunscreen is used to protect your face

Warm hat

It is so cold during your trek in Higher elevation so especially you should wear Heat retention. Specially, you need to wear it at night time.

Underwear

During a trek, you have to walk for 5-6 hours per day. So that makes the skin moisture and chafe of your skin. It is better to wear Merino wool or Nylon underwear.

Sports Bra

For ladies, a sports bra is necessary for the moisture of the body and easy for the movement with your bra. It keeps moisture to the wick and your upper body part.

Baselayer

It is the first layer which you are going to wear at a higher elevation. Walking a long way you may feel uncomfortable but after wearing Baselayer, it keeps you warm.

Trekking shirt

Due to the high temperature, you might fill more hot and uncomfortable. During that time you need to pack at least 4 T-shirt which keeps your body and fresh.

Fleece Jacket

The Fleece Jacket is more comfortable and easy to wear. It provides warmth to your body. If you wear this then it is not necessary to wear heavy jackets.

Outer Jacket

An outer Jacket is worn to protect from the air. Due to the high speed of the air, you might feel cold so that it protects from Air.

Rain jacket

Are you planning to trek from June to September, then make sure to pack a rain jacket. Along with the body, it will also keep your bag safe too.

Trekking trousers and shorts

At a lower altitude, you might feel hot and you need to wear shorts. After started hiking at a higher altitude, you will be wearing hiking.

Mensuration pad or tampons

For ladies, we highly recommend you to carry it. After you hike to a higher altitude, you can’t buy there.

Inner Gloves

These gloves help you to keep your skin safe from Snow under insulating gloves. It helps you to do simple work from fingers.

Outer Gloves

Due to cold, snow, and wind, you might feel difficult to your finger so that it helps you to protect your hands.

Hiking socks

These socks are used to keep your leg moisture. Make sure to wear soft and wicking materials as it has a prone smell.

Thermal socks

As you hike higher and higher, you need to change your socks and wear Thermal socks which help to keep your leg warm during night time.

Hiking boots

Good quality of boots with ankle support is necessary during your trek. It is good to have waterproof boots as you can. Sometime there might be heavy rainfall during the trek. In this condition, your boot might break. Get the perfect size of boot for you.

Trainers or trekking sandals

After a long hike wearing boot, you might feel uncomfortable wearing the same boot while walking in a local place. So in that situation, it is necessary to take sandals but you need to wear warm socks underneath.

Duffle bag

A duffle bag is an awesome bag where many stuff inside. If you are using porter then make sure to provide this bag. It is easy to carry, unpack, and pack during your trek.

Backpack

If you are planning to trek without any support of a porter than it is a suitable bag for a solo traveler.

Daypack

This bag is suitable for those trekkers who are taking porter with them. Personal things like mobile, wallet, passport, camera, water bottles, and other necessary things can be carried in this bag.

Sleeping bag

We recommend you to carry a sleeping bag for you during the trek. Make sure to buy an original sleeping bag so that you would not feel cold during the night.

Sleeping bag liner

If you want to make clean your sleeping bag and want more warm then you can insert the Sleeping bag liner inside the sleeping bag.

Trekking Poles

Trekking Poles is very necessary during the trek. Due to high elevation and long route your knee might get pain so that it is necessary to assist you. It can be also used while walking on the ice. Get light and foldable poles that are easy to carry and use.

Headlamp

Using Headlamp is very simple and easy. You should not carry a lamp with your head. A headlamp is very useful when you have to start early in the morning and late at night.

Microspikes

The microspikes have small grips where you can feel comfortable and might not be slept on ice. It is easy to walk through the help of Microspikes in ice. It is very light and awesome for light packers.

Water bottle or Hydration Bladder

As an increase of elevation, there are risks of altitude sickness so you need to hydrate your body from time to time. During the trek, you need to take a water bottle or hydration bladder to regulate your body.

Camera

The camera is a main important thing to capture awesome pictures during your trek. You can also take a waterproof camera to record from different viewpoints with stunning views.

Portable/Solar Charger

During your trek, you carry different types of electronic devices like Mobile, camera, headlamp, etc. You need to charge it so that it is necessary. In cold temperatures, your batteries might get discharged so that it is easy to use a good portable charge. While charging on Tea House, you need to pay an extra charge for it.

Passport/ Extra money

Always keep a copy of your passport and extra money with you. There might be any problems regarding this.

Insurance

During your trek, there might be an emergency case. In that case, insurance will help you through Helicopter rescue. If you do insurance then mainly make sure of two things, the elevation of 5167 meters and helicopter rescue service.

Quick-drying towels

While hiking for a long time, you might get tired and hot. In this situation make sure to use drying towels which helps you to remove all unnecessary liquid dusts from your body. So that uses quick-drying and light towels.

First aid kit

Make sure to carry the first aid kit with you during your trek. Medicines in Nepal is available in every medical shop. So you can buy easily whatever you want.

Water purification tablets or Lifestraw

We highly recommend you not to buy mineral bottles from the shop. Take your own bottle or hydration bladder with you. With the help of purification tablets, you can drink pure water. You can buy purification tablets or drops in every medical shop.

Isotonic Powder

 Isotonic Powder helps you to generate and recover your energy. You can add a bit of powder and mixed it in water. After drinking that water, it helps in water absorption.

Wet wipes and tissues

During your trek, there is no chance of getting tissues and wet wipes. You should carry your own tissues. You might get cold and runny nose o that make sure to carry extra.

Lip Balm

At higher elevation, your lips might get chap due to cold weather. Make sure to carry Lip Balm with you. It will help you to moisturize your lips.

Toiletries

If you use Shampoo, Facebook, Toothbrush, Toothpaste, Facewash, etc. during your trek then it is necessary to carry.

Hand Sanitizer

It is a very quick and easy way to get your hands free of bacteria.
